Rolls-Royce Bristol in 1968

Rolls-Royce Bristol in 1968

Go back to the records from the 1971 map.

G1185. This aerial picture shows the Rolls-Royce Patchway factories in March 1968. The full extent of the engine division complex can be seen. This was a scant two years after RR had bought the name Bristol Aeroplane Company so that they could own copyright to all of the Bristol engines. The West Works to the right of the road winding through are the oldest sheds with the newer East Works to the left of the road with the office block completed in 1964 shown by the car park. Behind the office can be seen the Olympus engine test facility with its silencers.
