Aerial view of Royal Mail centre

Aerial view of Royal Mail centre

Go back to the records from the 2003 map.

G1189. This view from 1997 shows the new Royal Mail distribution Centre that was built where West Works had been. The huge sorting office was close to road and air links, and was built to take the Royal Mail into the new millennium. Beyond can be seen the roofs of the East Works, they too will succumb to the bulldozer before long. On the left of the road going up the picture are the administrative Offices now called Whittle House. Beyond the railway line lies Little Stoke.
