G1192. An aerial view looking across Rolls-Royce East Works to the airfield beyond. In the foreground to the left of the railway line are the old radial engine test sheds from the 1920's and 1930's. These factory buildings next to them, were some of the first shadow units built in 1935 to allow for duplicate engine manufacture to West Works on the edge of the north/south runway.
