G1196. This aerial view dating from the 1950's shows the early jet engine test facilities situated between the railway line, Patchway station and the A38 alongside the airfield. Notice the turning circle at the end of the runway which is next to the Patchway housing estate, on the top right hand corner. Little Stoke houses are on the lower right hand corner.
