Filton Airfield

Filton Airfield

Go back to the records from the 1915 map.

G1389. A picture of the airfield at Filton, taken shortly after the Great War. Hayes Lane is seen on the left going toward the A38 'Bristol to Gloucester' road and across to Gipsy Patch Lane. In the foreground are the Flying Club hangars together with what would become the RAF unit and some of the old Acceptance Unit hangars. The engine works are alongside the A38.
