Aerial View of East and West Works

Aerial View of East and West Works

Go back to the records from the 2003 map.

G1791. Near the top of the photograph is what was the new Royal Mail building opened during the late 1990's. This is on the site of the West Works, which was bulldozed in the mid 1990's. Behind, on the now defunct north/south runway, are several Airbus A300's. These are either awaiting their turn in the cargo conversion programme or in storage. Running from left to right through the picture is the main A30 Bristol to Gloucester road, leading up toward this is Gipsy Patch Lane which dissects the Rolls-Royce factory, the buildings to the left being known as East works with Whittle House office building on the right.
