G2046. This is an aerial view of East Works taken during early 1950. The railway line on the right of the photograph is going from Bristol and curves to the left towards the tunnel which goes under the River Severn to South Wales. Part of the houses of Little Stoke can be seen on the right hand side of the railway. East Works factory buildings, numbers one, two and three are visible to the left. In the foreground you can see the engine test beds. These have now been demolished in the march of progress and none of the early testing facilities remain for students avaition engine history to view.
