Brabazon moves for final assembly

Brabazon moves for final assembly

Go back to the records from the 1955 map.

G2199. It is the 4th of October 1947, a cold wet day but the factory staff turned out in their thousands to witness the Brabazon being moved the half mile into the new, purpose built, assembly hall. The occasion was more akin to the launch of a new liner on its way to a fit out than an aircraft, but the occasion was such that it warranted a big event.
