Brabazon moves for final assembly

Brabazon moves for final assembly

Go back to the records from the 1955 map.

G2201. The factory workforce all turned out to witness the move of the aircraft that had been the talking point of everyone since its inception back in 1944. Now in October 1947 it was shown to the world. Behind is the east bay of the new assembly hall, the only part finished so far, beyond is the larger centre bay and beyond again the west bay. In all the assembly hall will cover some 8 acres and house many aircraft in the years to come.
