G2274. This aerial view of Rolls-Royce shows that much of the expansion yet to come has not even begun. Steam trains still operate on the railway line and little construction work is apparent. The village of Patchway is detached in this photograph but is now fully enveloped by the City of Bristol. In the fields beyond is now the M5 and M4 motorways with their junction at Cribbs Causeway, itself now a huge out of town shopping centre.
