Air raid September 1940 at Filton

Air raid September 1940 at Filton

Back to the story

G1414. Aerial photograph taken by the Luftwaff in the days before the intended raid. It shows the airfield clearly identified by the East/West runway. Although camouflaged the West works engine factory and the airframe manufacturer hangars are also clearly shown. What is also clear is the marker formed by the railways that pinpointed the target for the attacking flight crews.
