Air raid September 1940 at Filton

Air raid September 1940 at Filton

Back to the story

G1415. Follow on from the original aerial photograph, G1414, showing the two main target areas, the airframe hangars and the engine sheds at the bottom of the hill to the right of the main East/West runway. This was a daylight raid and even with camouflage the buildings would not be difficult to identify once the rectangle formed by the railway was seen.
