French built Zodiac at Olympia 1910

French built Zodiac at Olympia 1910

Back to the story

G1548. This picture shows the Zodiac biplane, one of six purchased by Sir George White for his newly formed company, the British and Colonial Aeroplane Company. behind can be seen the railway arches at this outdoor event. The works foreman denoted by the bowler hat stands to the right under the company banner. For many people this was very much a new invention and one that the masses visiting the exhibition would never have seen anywhere before, let alone in flight.
