Bristol F.2B instrument panel

Bristol F.2B instrument panel

Back to the story

G1669. The basic instrument panel in a WW1 F. 2B Bristol Fighter. Note the positioning of the airspeed and rpm gauges, this would have been done so that the pilot could take a quick look and should see the pointers at a set position, he would then know he was within operating perameters. This aircraft is fitted with a rudimentary lens bomb site. Pilots view was fairly restricted but quite good for the period.
