| G1812. Two Bristol Sycamore Helicopters take off for a test flight from the Weston-Super-Mare factory at Banwell, over Brean Down and the Bristol Channel. In the background you can see Steepholm one of the two large islands in the channel, Steepholm is administered from the English side and Flatholm, the other large island, comes under Welsh jurisdiction. The aircraft are in the markings of the West German Luftwaffe. They were part of an order of 50 to be used for ambulance and air/sea rescue duties. | |
