G2081. During the First World War, from July 1916 onwards conscription of men to the Western Front meant that women were brought into the workplace. Here you can see them assembling the wooden frames which made the Bristol Fighter, at the British and Colonial Aeroplane Company's Bristol Tramways shed at Brislington, which they utilised for the war effort.
