Wartime RAF letter

Wartime RAF letter

Back to the story

G2480. Following the telegram received from the Home Office the parents of Sergeant Albert Williams received this letter from the Air Commodore in charge of records for the RAF. This was an all too often and painful duty for members of Bomber Command. Throughout the war years some 60% of active crews were lost on operations.
