G1056. The Beaufighter benefited from the earlier Blenheim in that it was quicker to build because of its well planned unit construction. It was designed as a fast daylight bomber and used welded steel tube and plywood in its construction. These aircraft was being built in large numbers and was a thorn to the Luftwaff in 1940.
