Back to the story

G1526. This picture shows how the internally wing mounted Centaurus engines were mounted. Each engine drives through a coupling to a tractor propellor. They were designed as contra-rotating to counteract anti-torque. They also acted as reversing airscrews to assist in breaking on landing.
